I am a size 2 at White House black market to a 4 everywhere else and ordered the small. Fits great but the waist seems a little big for me which I was surprised- plus it has an elastic waistband. So, this means I can easily wear a thicker base layer or tuck in base layer tops comfortably. I need the belt but the belt they give you is absolute garbage but any belt would work.Ordered a Medium and it is a bit to to tight Need to order large I am 5"2 and 150 lbs.I’m quite disappointed in these “snow, ski pants”. They may be ok for hikers who have small buttocks and thighs, but anyone with some junk in the truck and/or thicker thighs will find that these pants tend to get caught/bound on the knees when bending/lifting the knees AND the lack of butt space means that the rear waistband will dip down with every hip bend (resulting in the front waistband cutting into the belly)Here’s my full review. Please understand that my 9-5 job is as a theatrical costumer who teaches fitness on evenings and weekends. I KNOW proper fit for various active bodies! I literally spend my days tailoring clothes so my actors can move without restriction and still look good.I purchased these pants for my dog’s indoor/outdoor nose work event on a 37-45 degree, rainy day. These pants were a big fail for the outdoor portions of the day. They kept me reasonably warm indoors but uncomfortable while sitting for 5 hours in an unheated car.I was hoping these pants would be as good as my other pairs of ski pants that I’ve worn for the past 30 years. Nope.I wore a size Large with one pair of fleece long underwear (my usual outdoor base layer for snow/cold weather activities when wearing my other ski pants)My sitting (relaxed & expanded) waist measurement is 31.5. My thigh measurement is 23.5. I’m 5’1”but I do have long thighs and torso. My hip measurement is 40 with a round muscular butt. I have a muscular, now slightly soft silhouette (I’ve gained about 8 pounds since I can’t teach my fitness classes due to COVID restrictions)Let’s take this review point by point, via the company’s claims:-“Material: 100% soft shell, anti static wear-resistant and breathable”—- TRUE. I did not shock my dog even though I wore layers of polyester fabrics. Breathable—— kinda true. I’ll get to that later.-“Included: the adjustable elastic waistband includes buttons and belts” —— Ummmm kinda true. The waist band does have elastic on it. The closure has a tension hook. Do not expect a button or snap. THE BELT! UGH. Let’s talk about this belt. It’s just the usual 1.5” webbing, but that clasp is a humdinger! I had to help another competitor undo her belt outside the bathroom (she and several others had purchased these pants for this competition. We all discussed these pants in the parking area. We talked about these pants EVERY TIME we got near each other!)THIS BELT CLOSURE IS LIKE AN AIRLINE SEATBELT CLASP. One must push down on the area AWAY from the place you inserted the male end of the buckle! I’ve switched my belt with an elastic belt.—“Features: lines with fleece to provide you with extra warmth, softness and comfort. Waterproof and wind proof to keep you warm and dry”—- True, lined with fleece, but NOT WINDPROOF. Vaguely waterproof, more like mildly water resistant. THE WIND BLEW RIGHT THROUGH THESE PANTS! Maybe that’s the breathable claim, but dadgummit, these MF’ers let the cold wind hit our underlayers, which then chilled the whole body. Brrrrrr.... I wore my favorite ski jacket which always keeps me warm and dry with the proper pants, but even my happy jacket couldn’t keep me warm. That being said, I never overheated in these pants either, not even when my dog and I went to visit my elderly Dad in his 82 degree house (I’d removed my jacket)—“Detail: Practical women’s hiking pants, multi zipper pockets- front and back security zipper pockets with elastic pull tab, wear resistant knee cloth” —— Ok, the pockets are ok. The thigh pocket was the perfect size for my car key fob and a $20 bill. The hip pockets were deep enough for my iPhone plus when I was standing still, but phone became uncomfortable when I was moving. That could be because of the shape of my muscular thighs (lots of pants are too tight on my thighs anyway).*Due to the way the wind blew through these pants, I kind of expected the pants to have a high Lycra content. Nope. Don’t expect them to be stretchy enough to move with you or flex around the contents of your pockets. —— Wear resistant knee cloth? Not really. Two of the competitors had pulls from their dogs’ nails and putting knees on the ground.Overall impression? NOT IMPRESSED. I was neither warm nor comfortable in these pants on a moderately cold, moderately active day. I wound up having to dry these off and put on a pair of true waterproof rain pants over these pants. I was still cold, but drier and couldn’t feel the wind.I can’t imagine wearing these to ski or snowboard.I like everything about the pantsI've tried numerous winter pants like these & returned all of them because the waist fit fine but the legs were super baggy. These pants have a slim fit finally. The lining is really thin but during hiking & walking I haven't gotten cold. There's room for thermals but I couldn't get the pants on with another layer because fleece lining is too grippy. I didn't feel wind blowing through. Not sure about waterproof because I haven't fallen in the snow. They kind of pulled down as I hiked though. I had to keep pulling them up in back.My major issue with these is the opening on the bottom of the legs is very tight. I have to put my socks on first because I can't pull the legs up to get socks on. The legs definitely don't fit over my hiking boots (which is a problem in snow). I had also ordered a different pair with more flared zip open leg bottoms. Since it took me so long to find slim fit winter pants I kept both. These I use for walking dogs with sneakers so I don't have to worry about going over my boots. I use the other pair for hiking.Puedes encarte llevar por la tabla de los tamaños ya que corren según el size. Buena calidad y cubre muy bien del frío extremo. Excelentes para esquiar.First I'll let you know....I have never left a review on Amazon but these pants deserved one! They fit more like a yoga plant than your traditional snow pants though considerably less stretchy. The shell is not only waterproof but also durable with reinforced panels at the knees and a stretchy waist band. I have a smaller waist with a big booty so I really appreciate this feature. The fleece liner kept my legs warm at 10-20° with heavy winds....I kid you not, I was grateful that I couldn't for another layer underneath as it would have been too warm! This leads me to my only complaint (and a negligible one at that)- the legs are snug so if you have athletic thighs, be prepared to size up or have that skinny jeans feel. I opted to stick with the size I ordered because they are so cozy! Also note that the cuffs are not wide enough or zippered to fit over a boot which I remedied by wearing gators to hike and I added my own belt as I prefer one more heavy duty than what was included. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a great winter hiking pant!I’m 5’6 118, order an xs they fit perfect. I’m very small boned.
